OMG! I loved the Book!
Richelle Rocks!
I´m only confused about the 2 contracts thing. What are your theories?
My theory is that Kyriakos also made a pact with Niphon and since they´re both soulmates it would be wrong since is 1 contract per soul. But that would not fit completely because Seth is not immortal or evil... He still has he soul... Maybe Georgina and Seth/Kyriakos are soul mates and share the same soul so Georgina´s contract would only be for half-soul, but that doesn´t fit either because then there wouldn´t be 2 contracts only 1...
Welll, it will me really hard to endure the waiting for #6...

I believe there are 2 contracts because I think Kyriakos has a contract too. His plus Georgies = 2. And we already know from Seth calling her Letha at the end, that he's Kyriakos, his soul. And I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other guys Georgie's loved over her years were his reincarnation as well. Their souls always find each other. That's how he could find her in the dream world. There isn't anything wrong with Georgie's contract, but there is something Kyriakos' that allows him to find her in each life. That's the error. That's what shouldn't be able to happen. That's my guess anyway, that's what I think based on the ending. I totally loved this book. I think it's the best one in the series so far. It will be quite something to top this with the final book. I love Roman so, so much. He's not always been nice, but he was always charismatic, and evil or not, I loved him. More so after this book. He was so, so sweet to Georgie. I can totally get him hiding his feelings, and I felt so bad for him when Georgie realised she couldn't be with him (yep I'm a Georgie/Roman fan even though its not going to happen). But then he took care of her anyway. LOVE. (have I made that clear yet?!) The whole book was just so well put together. The dream/flashback sequences were so real, I could feel every bit of happiness and pain she did. I hated how Maddie found out about Seth and Georgie. I love her character too, she's so sweet and I hate that she's now got to deal with all that pain and betrayal. I know it had to come out, I don't have a problem with that, but I feel so sorry for her. It was painful reading the bits where Georgie was helping sort out wedding stuff, because I didn't like Georgie being in pain, and I also knew Maddie was going to get hurt sooner or later and that it was hard knowing her happiness was going to be short loved. And ohmigosh Andrea? *sobs* heartbreaking. Seth's letter, which said the cancer was fatal? I was shocked, and sad, and...just, aw, so sad. Those girls! That whole letter for everything in it was pretty heartwrenching actually. I can't even list everything that was excellent about this book (even all the painful bits) because it all was. It was painful, and hopeful, and explained a lot and threw some great shocks as well. I completely loved it. Just about everything was perfect I think. I'm desperate for the final book now. Easily going to be in my top 5 must haves for 2011. Quite possibly top 3 even. Oh, and I totally don't hate Seth any more!!

Literally just finished. OMG what a cliffie! I agree, this is my favorite of the series, but MAN what an evil cliffie. lol. Never thought about Seth=Kyriakos. I don't know how that would work since if they were the same soul and Kyriakos made a deal, that soul would have gone to hell. Also, Seth would be immortal, which he isn't. Remember Georgia goes on and on about how creative and talented humans are and how immortals are not. That certainly doesn't apply to Seth. TBH, when I saw 'two contracts' my gut reaction was that Letha was pregnant when she sold her soul. No clue where that would lead us, but that's just what I thought. Can't believe we have to wait ANOTHER year. The wait is gonna kill me!

But what if Kyriakos' soul doesn't belong to hell? Carter is very, very invested in Seth, we've known that from the start. What if his deal was with the angels? Probably not a contract exactly like Georgies, but a similar thing.
Though the idea that she was pregnant at the time...well, that's an interesting one that's going to linger, I hadn't thought of that before.

Carter is invested, but not just with Seth. In SS, remember Georgina kept commenting on Carter's interest in her love life? I think you may be onto something there, with Kyriakos making a deal with Heaven, I just don't know how that would affect Georgina and her contract.
Any ideas?

Because what ever Kyriakos' deal is, it involves Georgie. That's my guess anyway! Could be well off base but hey, what else are we meant to do over the next year but speculate? lol
And yeah, I meant that Carter was invested with Seth and Georgie together.

I'm digging the whole Seth/Kyriakos thinking. It hadn't even crossed my mind! I'm trying not to speculate. It'll just kill me to think about it! I really do not want this series to end.
Roman broke my heart in this book. The way he was with Georgie...so sweet. I really don't want her with Seth. I want her with Roman. Or at least he should be given somebody special. I want to see him happy.
I love that we got to see more of Georgie's past. I feel I understand her characters and her motivations now. She's become more real to me after this book. I love the oxymoron that is her character. A minion from hell with a conscience. Genius!

This book should have been officially titled: Kick the Succubus While She's Down. It was an emotional roller coaster for me. I actually think I rushed through this book to hopefully get to the good ending. (this is why I'm re-reading it right away) I'm full of so many emotions after then end. So many things have now started to come together. As sad as this book made me at points, I absolutely loved it. It was my favorite in the series so far. It killed me to have Georgina going through all of that depression. She just couldn't catch a break. I'm not sure I could have set their and helped my best friend marry the man I loved. I know that Georgina somewhat felt that she deserved to be unhappy, because of what she and Seth did to Maddie. The dreams were very also had to bare. Georgina had to relive some of the worst moments of her life. The worst dream to me by far, was the one where she had to watch Seth and Maddie make love. I could have wept for Georgina, that was truly heart breaking. Not knowing if it was true or false, was just devastating. I at least knew in my heart that it wasn't true. First, Seth would never tell Maddie she was his world....Second, he wouldn't have betrayed her confidence. My favorite dream had to be when Georgina finally got to see the Seth was the man in her dream. I believe with all of my heart that it was a true dream. I did find the dream sequence a little long, and a little strange. I kind of wanted to flip pages through parts, but after it was done, I see why they showed each of the dreams. I enjoyed Roman in the first book, even if he was kind of evil. I just loved his character. He broke my heart in this book. He had to put up a front in the beginning, to cover up he love for Georgina. He showed that he really did care for her deeply, and he was willing to put his feeling aside for Georgina to be with Seth. I wasn't really sure he was capable of such selfless act. Poor guy. Georgina would have been a great choice as a life long (and I mean long) partner. BUT I'm not willing to give up Seth and Georgina, for Roman's happiness. I really can't wait to see why Carter has shown such interest Seth and Georgina. This is going to be good. Is it at all possible that Kyriakos made a deal with an angel? I Carter has a hand in this, I really have faith this will all work out in the end. I think the part that made me the most happy, was when Seth sent Georgina the letter. It was a real turning point for me. Seth just wasn't Seth the same Seth anymore, Georgina was right. Just about everything that endeared me to him was shriveling away. He's making steps in the right direction. My heart broke when he said he wasn't to make himself worthy of her. Now that is the old Seth. And the sadness continues. Andrea...poor poor Andrea. This is just devastating. Those poor girls. I just can't believe this is happening to the most perfect family. I'm so happy that they have Seth to help them work through the tragedy. The other real tragedy, was the death...murder...of Erik. I'm sure his death has a direct connection to Georgina's contract issues. He has been the most consistent member of Georgina's party. When something goes wrong, Erik always seem to help Georgina get to the right answer. I really thought Maddie was going to make it out of this, without finding out about Seth and Georgina. In the beginning, I actually thought that Doug was going to confront Georgina about her behavior. I think she may have taken it better, if she had been told by either of them. I think seeing it in a magazine may have been the worst way to find out of all. When Roman showed Georgina the magazine, I just about ran into the car in front of me (bare in mind I was listening to the audiobook and not reading). I held my hand over my mouth for about 5 min (I also don't recommend driving with one hand ). Now the end. I'm really happy that Georgina decided to make the decision to move forward with Seth. She had to have faith in Seth, faith in their love, and faith that they have a future. As great as the sex was for them in the past book, this was sooo much more. For me it was the light at the end of the tunnel. My heart was so light after reading that part. Which is such a change after the endings of the last couple books. I love that Seth called Georgina Letha. I know we can only guess why he said this, but all my guesses have positive ramifications. I forget who said it, but I think that it would be amazing if their souls just kept meeting up through out history. That make everything come together. All these past stories of he heart break. It all would make sense. I'm sure I'm missing so many other things, I've just run out of time to type. Can't wait til my bff finishes this book, so she and I can discuss. ;D Is there only one book left? I just can't remember, and can't wait!!!!

I forgot...Erik's murder got to me. I felt so bad for him. I literally felt my stomach drop when I read that part.
I agree that this was very much a 'Georgina doesn't get a break' book and I think that endeared her to me even more. I love that Richelle writes flawed characters that you can't help but love. She's also great at showing their growth throughout the series.
I'm just wondering, if the dream is true and Georgina does get her happy ending, how will Jerome take it? How will this affect the relationship she has with her immortal friends? I hope, not adversely. I love their dynamic.
BTW, you guys have any suggestions/recs for any other series since we all need to fill our time until the next release? I generally read Urban Fantasy, but I'm not married to it.
Great having a discussion w/ y'all.

Recommendations...good idea, started a thread on the Other Adult authors board Erik's death really got to me too. Was so sad!! I felt so bad for Georgie having to go through that, right after reliving some of her most painful moments as well. But yes, I too love how Richelle creates characters who are flawed and real, but also, how she stays so true to them. Like we see how Seth had changed from book 1 to 5, and then at the end of 5, where those changes are addressed. And oddly, I find the Seth/Georgie state from the end of this reassuring for Rose/Dimitri. Not that I've ever had real doubts about that, but still...I guess it's just reassuring because I can see that she's done everything to these guys she has, for a reason, make sense? Probably not, but it's 1am here so whatever. I really hated Seth at the end of Heat, but I love him again now, because of that letter. Oh, that letter broke my heart, but it was completely amazing too.

Gonna get fruit thrown at me or something, but I have not read the VA series.
:: ducks ::
It's not that I don't want to, because I'm sure it's as well written as the Succubus series, it's just that I'm finding it hard to warm up to another vamp series. The market is so flooded right now. I miss my old vampires...ala Sunday afternoon Dark Shadows when I was a kid a hundred years ago.
Forgive me for saying so, but, for me, Meyer ruined vamps for a while. If you tell me that VA is an original vamp series, then I'm all over it, but I'm just so sick of the 'special' girl being the one true love of the 'gorgeous' centuries old vamp.
:: sigh ::
Ignore me. I love Richelle's writing and I have faith that VA is a great series.
I agree with you about Erik's death being at the end of a very bad, very hurtful day for Georgina. It was heartbreaking. I love how Seth's characterization changes from 1-5 as well. That's probably one my most favorite things about Richelle's writing: her ability to show the growth and development of her characters.
Anyway, I'm gonna go over to the other board to check out the rec's.

VA is an origional vamp series. Ignore the cheesy title, because it's awesome. And kicks Succubus butt in my opinion xD Rose, VA's heroine, is sassy, smart and flawed. And the plots are great, just like the Succubus series. You MUST try it. I can understand why Meyer put you off them for a while, and feelings of the market being flooded with YA vampire books, but VA is a must read. For starters, Rose is 17 dhampir, (half vampire for those not aware of the term) not immortal in anyway, nor does she need blood. Then there are Moroi, mortal vampires who can wield magic, and the Strigoi immortal evil killers. Dhampirs work as gardians to the Moroi, who are the ruling force, and Strigoi like trying to kill them. And there isn't a centuries old love interest either. He's 24, also a dhampir, and totally mine Go read. Right now. You won't be disappointed. Okay, back on topic.... Yep, growth and development are a huge plus point in her writing for me. I tire of books where the characters keep making the same mistakes and don't learn from them. I don't mind characters who screw up a lot, so long as they learn and grow from it, and for me, Richelle's characters are always learning and growing, for the good and bad stuff they do. I love that.

LOL, ok, ok, I'll certainly put them on my list. See, I love it when writers take old creatures and give then a unique twist. Def. going to try the series.
Oh, I also added my recs on the other board. Thanks for the input.
