I really like Dorian. He's gorgeous and kinky. I'd let him paint me :-). Plus, even though he wants the prophecy to happen, he told Eugenie he would love her even if she didn't have a baby. And he hasn't gone after the sister, so he's not as desperate as others. Dorian really loves her. I want them to work out, but I have a feeling Kiyo will make a comeback just like I think Dimitri will make a comeback in VA. But anyways, I think Dorian could make Eugenie happier than Kiyo. He can help her with magic and being a monarch and there's no baby drama. Kiyo will never be able to give Eugenie his full attention. Yay Dorian!!

Please don't equate Kiyo with Dimitri =/ Dimitri is awesome and Rose's other half, they complete each other, the same can not be said for Kiyo/Eugenie! lol
I don't think we've seen the last of Kiyo, but I really, really don't want him with Eugenie. I was so furious at him at the end of Thorn Queen and still am thinking about it. Dorian all the way thanks. He may have other agendas, but I believe you're right that he loves her too. And that counts for a lot.

I'm not saying the two are alike. I'm talking relationship story lines. Rose and Dimitri are not together at the end of the last book, neither are Kiyo and Eugene. But I'm guessing both couples will end up together in the end. I see Kiyo making a comeback with Eugene like I see Dimitri making a comeback with Rose. But I can hope for Eugene and Dorian to stay together.

lol it's okay, I know what you mean. Though I disagree about Kiyo and Eugenie being the couple at the end of her series, Rose and Dimitri is a for sure, anything else would be crazy, but I don't see anything 'for sure' about Eugenie's series. And like I said, don't like Kiyo at all right now. Just can't see it working out at present. Maybe the next book will change things, but it'd have to be a pretty major change!!

How do you feel about the sister? I can't decide what I think is gonna happen with her. Part of me thinks she will die in the war, but another part of me thinks she will escape during the war. Unsure of what role she will play in the story. I can't wait to find out!

Janee-- I would LOVE to hear your perspective. I've been wondering how Team Kiyo people can even begin to defend him....
The Sister... I really, really want her to make me proud of her. I just don't know how that will happen.

Kiyo has always seemed a bit off to me. Dorian as well seemed to have major flaws but after thorn Queen Kiyo seems worse. Complants. He is really possesive and controling. I remeber one point were he said if there was a way to give up her land, then he would make her. He has been clueless about her feelings on everything. He hasn't understood her about her magic or her legacy or even her feelings about his baby and baby mama. He is always holding her back. With her magic he didn't understand that as long as she couldn't control her powers she would always be a victiam.
He didn't accept that she was Queen when everybody else did. He wanted her to run away from it all insted of facing it head on. He didn't grasp the reality of her situation he just wanted her to do what he wanted and what was convenent for him.
What man would not want to kill his girlfriends rapest???!!! His reaction was all wrong. He should have been the one wanting to kill not worring about the 'political fallout' And then he was like "you learn magic to fast" you shouldn't do that. WTF! He doesn't understand her at all. She can't ignore her legacy, her magic or her land.
His problem is he is afraid of her and what she can become. He doesn't trust her. He doens't trust her own humanity. He was all horrified that she wanted to slaughter that loser and such, Whats the matter with him! Exspesually when he knew that nobody else could stop him.
He should have supported her. Not sit there judging and dicatating what she should do. He doesn't accept all of who she is. One obvious piece of evidence that Dorian is better then Kiyo. After the rape Kiyo was all armstretched when he saw her and looking all hurt when she flinched. Then he started lecturing
Dorian gave her her space and reasured her. This is why I like him better

I agree completely with everything said there!!
I really do not get how he didn't want the rapist dead. He talks often about his instincts often ruling him, but in that moment he was all cool logic? That didn't really make sense to me, as well as being plain wrong!! Dorian has his flaws, there is no doubting that, but he seems so, so much better for Eugenie than Kiyo!!
