I realise that with it still being 9 1/2 weeks until Spirit Bound is out, it's hard to know what could possibly happen, but with a title like 'Last Sacrifice' it's hard to not specular on who will die! So despite SB not being out yet, who do you think is most likely to die come the end of LS?

Left a comment on your blog from the excitement, came here to repost: OMG! That so doesn't bode well with my stomach! Eek!! Last sacrifice?? Oh god, does that mean one of Rose's friends will die?? Okay, want to say it won't be Dimitri because...because it WON'T be Dimitri!  I want to say no to Lissa too, because they've been friends forever. And Rose has to be out, ending the series by killing the MC? Really don't think that'll happen. My guess then falls to Adrian trying to save Rose or maybe Christian trying to save Lissa. That's where my guess lies, one of the two. Maybe I'll make a more concrete guess after SB |

lol I saw the comment, and yay for her signing near you!! Very cool that you'll be able to get Spirit Bound signed in person too!
I don't really see how it could be Rose either, but she could think it has to be her. Or it could be her that has to sacrifice something or make the choice that someone won'y survive whatever needs doing.
I will hate it if it's Dimitri. I don't want to believe it could be him, but if I'm being realistic, he's a possiblity. Maybe a real possiblity. Think about it, once he's saved, he's going to have a lot of issues, things to work out. And life won't be easy for him. As I've said in the SB speculation thread, he's not just going to be able to slip back in to his old role. So maybe they realise that for whatever their plan for whatever the final fight is, involves someone doin something vital but that they can't survive, he'd see it as a chance to redeem himself. Make up for what he did as a Strigoi (even though that wasn't actually him, cause the real live Dimitri wouldn't do those things) or some other 'noble' reason. I'll be devestated if that happens, but it's a possiblity.
Adrian dying for Rose is one I've considered already and I still think it's a strong possiblity. I want to say it won't be Lissa either. She kind of needs to be around to take over the crown one day and lead the Moroi and dhampir's in to a better future. Yeah, I don't think she's too likely. Christian...hmm, less likely I think than Adrian or Dimitri, but I'd still say he's in the mix. I think Eddie and Rose's parents are possiblities too, but like Christian, not so likely.
Maybe things will be clearer after Spirit Bound, but I'll bet that whatever happens, will still come as a shock with some last miniute twist! lol

You make a lot of good points there, Cem.
Its just that I do not want to even consider the possibility that Dimitri will die at the end.
We know Rose won't die, so the sacrifice to me is from someone else. But of it is Dimitri, to me it defeats the purpose of the entire series. I have always felt this series was more than just good vs. bad. The entire story arc is about fighting the Strigoi, yes. But to me, all through the series, we see that traditional methods of fighting hasn't helped. Even if Moroi start using their magic, it could be too hard to cope up with Strigoi teaming up with humans. I think the solution lies in bringing back the Strigoi in some way, if thats possible.
Anyways, on the who. Although I am not a fan of Adrian, would hate it if it is him. Quite certain it is not Eddie since she has gone that route with Mason before. So, my bet is with Adrian or Dimitri. Again, would hate it if its Adrian, would be devastated if it is Dimitri.

I would be totally devestated if it's Dimitri, I really will. And because she's already had him die at the hands of Strigoi, I would hope she's not going to kill him for real at the end of the series. I completely adore Dimitri, and him and Rose together...yeah, would be devestated if it was him. But it was something that occured to me, so I had to mention it.
I agree that Eddie is really unlikely given what happened with Mason and that he's not that big a part in the series. I do think there is a chance he could die though, not as the 'Last Sacrifice', but he's someone I wouldn't be all that surprised about not making it. I love him though so I'll be really sad if that happens.

What if the sacrifice isn't a "who" but a "thing"...
There's little hope but I'm clinging to the idea that something is going to be sacrificed even though someone might have to die...
It could be the shadow kiss? Or maybe the sacrifice is meant to be a life but it's altered because of the shadow kiss? Or could it be something good? Like sacrificing the Moroi gov (and one of its officials like coughTatianacough)?
I don't want any of the main characters to die. Not Rose, Lissa, Dimitri, Abe or Christian. Or Adrian.

I wondered that too, if it was a 'thing' rather than a who, and the shadow kiss bond would be my first guess if that's what it is. I think a person is more likely at this point, but I don't want to see anyone die either. Not even Adrian.

Okay.. consider this.
What if the Last Sacrifice is Dimitri sacrificing himself to protect Rose? And, this sacrifice is the one act that can turn a Strigoi back to a dhampir/moroi. I am just trying to figure out a good way of getting a HEA for Rose and Dimitri.

That's a possibility for sure.
I'm not crossing anything out yet. There are just too many things we don't know about a lot of things concerning the series. Which makes it a lot more exciting.
I'm hoping that whatever happens, it's unique and hopefully something I haven't considered.

SPOILER FOR SPIRIT BOUND SO YOU GET WHERE MY ANSWER COMES FROM: so, i've read Spirit bound now. best book out of the 5 may i say. Those who have not read, beware for little (and big) spoilers. ok, in summary here, Dimitri is damphir again. yay! Adrian and Rose nearly have sex (no condom. shit.) ok... Christain and Lissa get back together (saw that happenning), Liss, rose, and Eddie end up freeing Victor and then losing him in Las Vegas. (oopsies) AND, Rose is arrested for the murder of the queen Tatiana. uhhh... yeah. no one saw that coming. So Rose now has a pretty good chance of getting the death sentence. well shit. Also, Dimitri claims to not love rose anymore, but when he fights the queen's (dead remember?) when they try to take rose away, it says otherwise. Anywho, back to the question. In all honesty, i think because since they will in the end part ways (her assignment, his... uh, laziness?) I think Adrian will attempt to save Rose from her prison. I've come to terms with his death now and will probably cry if it happens, but won't through my book. (probably) Second choice. as much as i hate it, Dimitri. He still loves her. let me put this into perspective for you. You meet this beautiful girl. You fall in love and survive because of her. Your loneliness leaves you with her. You both fall in love with the other. You have sex with her. You "die". You take her willpower with her blood. You try to kill her. You try to turn her into you. You get changed back to what you were and realize what you've don eto her. What would you do for her to make it up so you wouldn't hurt her anymore? if she refuses to be ignored, would you give your true life for her? That's why Dimitri's second. In short, here's a list in order of who sacrifices themselves: 1. Adrian 2. Dimitri 3. Cristian (for lissa or rose maybe?) 4. Eddie (best friendish) 5. Tasha Ozera (for just about anyone...) 6. Abe (he was his daughters lawyer... trying to anyway. he loves her) 7. Janine (Has gotten closer to eachother. kinda even love eachother) 8.
